Contourline (contourline.shop) is an independent editorial site. This policy explains, in plain language, what little information passes through the site and how we handle it.
Reading Contourline does not require an account, a profile, or a sign-up of any kind. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs of requests (such as page requested, approximate time, and general browser information) for security and reliability purposes. We don't combine these logs into a profile of individual visitors, and we don't sell or share them with advertisers.
The "join" form on the journal page is a simple, local confirmation: submitting it sets a small flag in your browser's own storage (localStorage) so the page can show a thank-you message. It does not send your email address anywhere, and no mailing list is maintained behind it at this time. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
We do not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking scripts on this site. We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles. Any storage the site uses (like the newsletter flag above) stays on your device and isn't transmitted to us.
Waypoint Card, described on our app page, is designed to keep route and waypoint data on the device it's used on. It does not require an account and does not upload location data to Contourline or to any third party.
Articles occasionally link to outside sources for context. Once you follow a link away from contourline.shop, that site's own privacy practices apply, not ours.
Contourline is a general-audience editorial site and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
If our practices change — for example, if we ever start a real mailing list — we'll update this page and adjust the date above.
